The Redwall series of adventures includes:

There are also picturebooks featuring Redwall Abbey. Both are beautifully illustrated by Christopher Denise. Although they take place in Redwall Abbey and feature many characters from the Redwall Chronicles, they do not fit into the chronological order. The available picturebooks at the moment include:

Redwall, Mossflower, and Salamandastron have each won the Lancashire Libraries Children's Book of the Year Award.

Redwall, Mossflower, and Mattimeo have each won the Western Australian Young Readers' Award.

Redwall, Mossflower, Salamandastron, and Mattimeo were each nominated for the Carnegie Medal.

The books were written out of chronological order, so the events don't all occur in order if you read them in the order in which they were published. Here is the chronological order:

  • Lord Brocktree
  • Martin The Warrior
  • Mossflower
  • The Legend of Luke
  • Outcast of Redwall
  • Mariel of Redwall
  • The Bellmaker
  • Salamandastron
  • Redwall
  • Mattimeo
  • The Pearls of Lutra
  • The Long Patrol
  • Marlfox
  • Taggerung
  • Triss
  • Loamhedge
  • Rakkety Tam
  • High Rhulain

  • Each year one new Redwall adventure is published. The books are released in Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, and South Africa on the same date. The release date is usually between July and September.

Paperback editions come out a year after the hardcover edition is first released.

Abridged (shortened) audio cassette versions are released at the same time as the hardcover edition.

  • Mr. Jacques has also written an unrelated collection of short stories, entitled Seven Strange and Ghostly Tales (1991). Originally, they were stories told around the campfire at a children's summer camp Brian worked at in Wales.

  • Brian Jacques has also been writing books based on the folklore legend of the Flying Dutchman, a phantom ship cursed to roam the seas for all eternity. So far the series includes:

  • The latest addition to Brian's picturebooks for children is Urso Brunov, Little Father of All bears, illustrated by Alexi Natchev

"They are all great because every one grabs the reader's attention and when you say you got to go to your next class or It's time to go to bed you read something real exciting about one of the characters that just happened you just have to read on to find out what it is."

Leslie Sabin from Oregon House wrote:
"All of the Redwall books..... are really exciting and fun to read. Even my brother likes them, and he's not much of a reader. They are great!"

"As a children's librarian I like them all very much because they are challenging but the kids love them so they enhance their skills and help them make the transition from easy reading to more advanced!"
