The Redwall television series has been co-produced by Nelvana of Canada (65%) and Alphanim of France (35%). It consists of 13 half hour episodes which recount the original Redwall story and remain faithful to the book. You can visit Nelvana's official Redwall television show website at RedwallTV.com.

The original artwork used as models for the animators has been painted by Fangorn (aka Chris Baker), the artist who provided most of the book covers for the British editions. European style animation was used, similar to the television shows Rupert and Babar. The music is beautifully performed by the Czechoslovak State orchestra.

Episodes #14 and #15 (Mattimeo #1 and #2) were aired on Teletoon, in Canada, on November 4th and 5th, 2000. Keep your eyes on your local listings for more episodes of Mattimeo.

Nickelodeon began airing the series on cable TV in the UK on Wednesday September 13th, 2000, and it will continue to be shown daily. At a later date, Redwall will be moved to a weekly slot on weekends. Weekend dates are yet to be announced. Check your local listings for exact times.

The Redwall television series began airing in Canada in both English and French on Teletoon in September 1999. You can find Teletoon listings for exact times by clicking here. It was also shown in France in December 1999.

Nelvana distributes its shows to 160 countries, so eventually the Redwall TV series will be distributed worldwide. It will also eventually be available on video. Additional information will be posted here as soon as it is available.

The plans to create a movie based on "Martin the Warrior" have been shelved for the meantime. Instead, more work will be done to make future episodes of Redwall to air on public television.

The 90 minute abridged version of the Redwall TV Series is now available in the UK. Online bookstores, like Amazon.co.uk, will be selling it worldwide.

Since April 2001, Public Television stations have had the rights to broadcast Redwall. Every station will be airing Redwall at a different time, so check your local listings to find out when it will be shown in your area. If you do not see Redwall in your listings, you can phone or write to your local television stations to ask when they will be airing it. Make sure that you contact your local station, not PBS. If you're located in the United States, and you need to find television listings for Redwall, take a look at TVGuide.com.

Somewhere around 70% of the United States will be able to see Redwall on their local public television stations.

Q: What if I don't see my station/city listed?
A: First, you should find your local public television station by using the PBS.org station finder. Next, you should contact them and ask them to pick up Brian Jacques' Redwall. You can contact them via phone, fax, or e-mail. Best yet, send them a letter! A well written letter has the same effect of 100 phone calls.
Q: What if my local station doesn't have a time listed?
A: You should contact your station right away! You can use the PBS.org station finder to get the address, phone or fax number, or e-mail address to contact your station. Keep an eye on your local listings for times, and keep an eye on Redwall.org for future updates.
Q: What time and what channel will Redwall be on in my city?
A: Sorry, but I do not provide local times! They can vary quite a bit, and I don't keep track of them. Keep an eye on your local listings for times and channels.

It is generally a good idea to double check these times with your local listings. These may be just a little off, or incorrect, so read your TV schedules ahead of time so you'll know for sure if you have the correct time. If you have any corrections for this page, feel free to e-mail me.
